Husband and I are planning to use the train from Krakow Poland to Venice in Sept but we want also to stop by and see the ff places for 2 days each. May we know the shortest/fastest route from Krakow to Vienna, Salzburg/Halstatt, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Lucerne, Venice. It doesn\'t matter to which place we go first from Krakow but final destination is Italy (Venice, Florence, Rome). May I also know travel time? The information you will give us will guide us in booking for our hotels. Thank you!

Hi and welcome to railcc!

Depending on your country of residence you could think of getting a Interrail https://rail.cc/en/interrail or Eurail https://rail.cc/en/eurail pass.

For train schedules, use the schedule planner: http://plan.rail.cc
A sensible route could be Krakow to Vienna (by day or night train) - Salzburg (and day trip to Hallstatt) - Rothenburg (via Munich) - Lucerne (via Stuttgart) - Milan; from Milan you can travel to both Florence or Venice.

You can check prices for tickets here:
Krakow - Vienna: https://rail.shop/polrail (no other option to buy online)
Vienna - Salzburg/Hallstatt: https://rail.shop/omio/wien/hallstatt
Salzburg - Rothenburg and Rothenburg - Lucerne: https://rail.shop/deutschebahn
Lucerne - Milan and Milan to Venice/Florence: https://rail.shop/omio
