I understand that Interrail pass card will be delivered by mail (not e-ticket). I think it takes days to receive a pass by mail. We can not make reservation of train immediately after buying the pass in the inter rail website? The intention of my question is that I live in France and plan trip to Benelux , and am thinking of buying global pass from Paris to Amsterdam, and from <<Brusela (or Luxemburgo) to Paris. But worried about the reservation for the Thalys train from Paris to Amsterdam (holiday season, beginning of May). As an alternative option, I am thinking of buying Benelux pass (not global pass) , and buy train tickets between Paris and Amsterdam at the Thalys site to guarantee the reservation as soon as possible.

Hi Blizzard and welcome to rail.cc

Interrail reservations are available for Thalys even without Interrail pass. Buy your reservation now and get your Interrail pass delivered some days late. That\'s no problem. :)

The reservation fee for the Thalys with Interrail is Euro 25 from Paris to Amsterdam. From Brussels to Paris it is Euro 20.
Read here for all details and prices: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/thalys/41
Reservations as e-ticket are available on ACPRail [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/reservation[/ux] or beurope [ux]https://rail.shop/beurope/reservation[/ux]

From Luxembourg to Paris you will use a TGV train with a Interrail reservation fee of Euro 6.
Read here for more details: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/tgvfrancelux/327

If you decide to travel with normal train tickets, have a look on [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] where you also find saver prices for France to Benelux and inside of Benelux. Might be cheaper in total, but depends on your route.

I hope this helps... :)

And if you like the free content and help on rail.cc, support it and buy your Interrail pass at no extra fees for you via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

Pete :)

I checked on https://rail.shop/omio for trains from Brussels to Faro, but all it gives me is the Eurolines bus!!! With Interrail you cannot travel on Eurolines, and I don\'t even want to sit on an uncomfortable bus. Do you know if there is anyway that you can only get results with trains? Thanks!

Hi.
[ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] is a good tool to buy train tickets in Western/Central Europe.
To plan an Interrail trip, use for example [ux]https://plan.rail.cc[/ux] or the Interrail app [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail/app[/ux]

Brussels to Faro by Interrail:

Brussels - Lille by free IC trains.
Lille - Paris: either by TGV train direct (reservation required) or by regional trains (free).

Paris - Irun: by direct TGV train (reservation required)

Irun - Lisbon: direct night train (reservation required)

Lisbon - Faro: by direct train

Information about train types and reservations: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
Night trains: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train

Please read the blogs mentioned bellow.
