Hi,
I\'m aware of a number of other forum posts based on this topic but have not seen any for this Summer of travel. I cannot find the direct train that is referred to often, let alone be bale to reserve a room or seats on this train.
The only option I can see is a train leaving Budapest, changing at Zagreb and then continuing to Split. I have knowledge of other catching a direct train but my search for this have been inconclusive. A number of posts also state that tickets are only available at stations (which is fine) but I would like evidence the train exists before planning my route around it.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi Sam, welcome to railcc!
The direct Budapest - Split night train will run daily from June 16 to September 8 this year: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/split-budapest-b1205/133[/ux]
Reservations for Interrail probably will still be available only at train stations; regular tickets (including reservations and saver prices) should be available again on website of Hungarian Railways MAV START: [ux]http://rail.shop/mav[/ux]

Hi Flo,
Thanks for your response.
Am I correct in assuming that these trains will be visible on the interrail timetable from those dates onwards?
I am due to arrive in a group of 4 people on the 21st of July, looking to depart on Monday the 23rd of July.
Do you think this allows adequate time to reserve tickets for the direct night train at the station and do we also run the risk of the train being \'sold out\' effectively?
Thanks
Flo

It should show up on all relevant schedule planners (eg the MAV START ticketing page as well as [ux]http://plan.rail.cc[/ux], [ux]https://rail.shop/scotty[/ux] or the Interrail App within the next few weeks.
Getting four reservations in one compartment could be tricky two days in advance but you can also make these reservations at train stations in other countries; also you can contact [ux]https://rail.shop/wasteels[/ux] and let them do the booking. Reservations can then be collected in Budapest.
