My family of 5 will be travelling on two separate day trips in May, I was wondering if anyone could recommend the trains to get to the two places mentioned below,
Prague to Cesky Krumlov
Salzburg to Hallstatt
If I travel by train where should I get train tickets at a reasonable price?
And how much would the tickets cost per person?
And lastly, what is the earliest train we could catch to depart from Prague to Cesky Krumlove and Salzburg to Hallstatt?
And the last train to return to each city?

Prague to Cesky Krumlov:
Czech State Railways "CD" run frequent trains from Prague to Ceske Budejovice. From Ceske Budejovice to Cesky Krumlov they operate only one train per direction, this train runs directly from Prague via Ceske Budejovice to Cesky Krumlov. You can find schedules and buy tickets at [ux]http://rail.shop/cd[/ux]
All other trains from Ceske Budejovice to Cesky Krumlov are operated by private railway GW Train Regio. Schedule: [ux]http://www.gwtr.cz/cs/sumava/jizdni-rady/jizdni-rad[/ux] (open the file Ceske Budejovice to Cerny Kriz). Tickets can be bought on the train, a single trip is just about 40 CZK or so. Detailed tariff: [ux]http://www.gwtr.cz/files/editor/files/TARIF_GWTR_SUMAVA_WEB(1).pdf[/ux]
In summer there will be also a direct train from Prague to Cesky Krumlov operated by private railway Arriva: [/ux]http://www.arriva-vlaky.cz/jizdni-rad/praha-cesky-krumlov-nova-pec/[/ux]
For travelling from Prague to Cesky Krumlov the direct train from Prague to Cesky Krumlov operated by CD is quite convient and I would recommend it. Buy at [ux]http://rail.shop/cd[/ux]
For the return, have a look at the possible schedules and decide what\'s best for you; the direct train from CD leaves quite early so you might take a train operated by GW Train Regio to Ceske Budejovice and change there to a train to Prague. For that, you can buy your tickets locally.
From Salzburg to Hallstatt you will travel with Austrian State Railways "ÖBB". Buy your tickets at [ux]https://rail.shop/oebb[/ux]
