Hi there!
At the moment we are planning our Interrail trip through northern Europe.
Does anyone know how we can make a reservation for the Train from Oslo to Trondheim? Or would you say that we don\'t need a reservation at all?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
the Skandi-Gang

Hi Skandi-Gang, welcome to railcc!
You should be able to get reservations online at [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/reservation/[/ux] or locally at a train station. In some countries (Germany, Austria, Czech Republic,...) you should also get seat reservations for Norway at the train station.
Seat reservation for Norwegian trains is recommend (but not compulsory); especially in summer and around weekends/holidays trains can be full; but usually you will find a seat and probably wont be left at the platform.
And even if there are no reservations Oslo - Trondheim available anymore you might stand for a while until a passenger gets off and then get a seat - in the end it depends on you whether you want a guaranteed seat or are ok with a little uncertainty. ;)

Hi Skandi-Gang.
I personally prefer to have a reservation for such a long trip. But you have the choice like Flo explained. :)
Important... don\'t miss the discount of 15% on your Interrail pass purchase. As it seems you know already your travel dates, you can also buy your Interrail pass now.

Hello!
We have quite the same issue, so I re-use this conversation :
We have a global pass interrail and we need to buy a couchette reservation for our trip in Norway from Bodo to Oslo (via trondheim).
We will arrive from the north (Tromso) so we need to buy in advance our seat (couchette) reservation, we cannot wait last minute to buy it in Bodo.
In the official website (www.nsb.no/en/) , you can only book a full ticket, here we just need the seat (couchette) reservation.
- in this website recommended by interrail, [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/nsb[/ux] , we can only buy seat reservation, no couchette ????
Basically, what we want to buy is this : Sleeper 2 | 2-bed-compartment | private washing facility | 2nd class, in that link [ux]https://rail.cc/en/night-train/bodo-trondheim-rt-476/98[/ux] , and then the seat reservation Trondheim-Oslo
Thanks for your tips!!

Hi!
I made a test booking for July 3 at [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/nsb/[/ux] and a shared compartment (= 2 bed sleeper cabin) is avalable for 121€ as an e ticket.
Please check for your travel date on NSB website [ux]https://rail.shop/nsb/[/ux] if there is availability for the sleeping cars (regular ticket); if there is availability, but it doesnt show any reservations for passholders on [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/nsb/[/ux] then please contact ACP Rail directly.
Another option to get your reservation would be to buy it at a railway station in advance; this is not only possible in Norway but also in a few European countries, for instance in Germany, Austria,...

Hi.
I travelled with Interrail and booked both, seat reservation for a day train (Bergen-Oslo) and sleeper reservation for a night train (Oslo-Bergen) via ACPRail [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/reservation[/ux] in June. The reservations came by email and I just printed it out. The conductor seemed that he also accepted it, if show only on your laptop or mobile phone.
Sold out: okay, the route Oslo-Bergen is one of the main attractions in Norway. And the train was full - that was my impression. In the night train two wagons was completely taken by Chinese travel groups. Same for the day train... do it like Flo said, check it on NSB as well. But I recommend to make the reservation some days in advance. If no reservation is required for seats with Interrail in Norway, it is worth the money in summer. :)
