Hi!

My girlfriend and I are looking to travel Europe this summer and as part of that we are wanting to travel from Sofia to Istanbul. As part of this, the train from Sofia arrives in Kapikule at 3:10am and then it seems like the next train is 2:52 the following morning. We\'ve looked, but we can\'t seem to find anywhere to stay in Kapikule, if there would even be anywhere open at this time? Can anyone make any recommendations? Either somewhere we could stay or an alternative (potentially easier) route through. Someone must have done it!

Cheers

George

Hi George and welcome to rail.cc

You are talking about this train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/sofia-istanbul-d-493/309
No need to stay overnight in Kapikule - the time "difference" is due to the different time zones between both countries. It is a direct train from Sofia to Istanbul. Please read as well our blog here: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/bucharest-sofia-istanbul-train/[/ux]

And if you like the free information on rail.cc, please buy your Interrail pass via our partner link. Same price for you and at the same time support for rail.cc: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

Pete :)
