I read somewhere that it is really important to validate your ticket in a machine before boarding your train in Italy, otherwise you may face some serious fines.

I'm going to have a very short stop in Munich before boarding an Italian train heading for Rome. Will I have to validate my ticket in Munich since it is an Italian train? And is it the seat reservation ticket I should validate in that case or the Interrail pass itself?

Thanks!

hi Telis ...

you don't have to validate your ticket as the train starts in Germany. German staff will be in the train who check your ticket.
As well it is not possible to validate your InterRail ticket in such a machine... only fill all needed data in it. that's it ! :)

have fun,
