Good evening! I have a few doubts about the outbound and inbound journeys. Me and my friends want to begin the interrail from our city in the northwest of Spain but to get to our first destination (Paris) we need to take a train to Madrid and from there to Paris. Would we be able to make that trip and still be counted as one day of journey if it takes less than 24 hours?

Thanks in advance,
Sara.

Hi Sara, welcome to railcc!

You have to leave your country (Spain) before midnight if you are using the outbound journey.

For example; if you start in Vigo/A Coruna/Santiago/... at 08:00 in the morning you have to reach the border before 24:00 of this day.
If you can reach Paris on the same day you only need one travel day.
