Is the train from Bucharest to Sofia direct train? Or will I have to catch a connection somewhere?

Connecting service until May 31, 2018 and from October 2, 2018:
Bucuresti Nord 12:45 - 15:35 Ruse
Ruse 16:35 - 22:30 Sofia
Direct service from June 1, 2018 to October 1, 2018:
Bucuresti Nord 12:45 - 22:30 Sofia

Also, can I purchase first class seats? There’s not much information on this train and some posts that I have read notes that it’s a 2 cart train?
