I wonder if anyone here can help? I have some questions about my booking on the OEBB NightJet from Wien-Venezia, and would love to avoid having to phone them again, since two of their staffers hung up on me when I apologised (auf Deutsch) for being unable to speak German.

My main questions are
FIRST:
1 x Internationaler Behindertenpass


As it happens, I have cerebral palsy, but I did not mention any disability when booking the tickets. I do not even know if I qualify for a "Behindertenpass”

SECOND
The Eurail pass is in my name, not my wife\'s name, and it is a condition of the pass that we always travel together. So I’m curious about why my ticket is €35 more expensive than hers , listed as “nicht stornierbar” with “Keine relevante Ermäßigung” and why hers is listed as being on a Eurail Pass and “Wenn Sie heute stornieren, fallen keine Stornokosten an”

I realise it’s a longshot, but if no one here can answer the questions, I’ve lost nothing. If anyone CAN, I’ve avoided having to try to find an English-speaker on the OEBB helpdesk. So it’s worth a try. Thanks!

Hi kiwiajeossi,

sorry this is such a nightmare, something weird is obviously going on. I can\'t quite tell what exactly, but it\'s not good.

From the information provided above, it seems like for some reason, the booking was made for one Eurail Pass holder and one holder of an international disability pass - since you didn\'t mention any disability over the phone, my working theory is that the ÖBB employee you spoke to probably selected the wrong item in their internal system.

Did you try contacting them with the 16-digit Buchungscode?

Is there a way for you to find out whether you credit card or bank account got charged? If so, the charge statement will contain the Buchungscode or Auftragsnummer. The ÖBB service team should be able to find your booking with that.

Thanks for your reply, Quenzon. THe Staffer who emailed me is going to look into it, using the booking confirmation I supplied. The upside of advance planning is that we have 5 months to get this sorted! :D

Weird...seems like a price quote - note the "Wagen 999/Platz999" (coach 999/bed/place 999" which wouldnt be on an actual reservation (bed and coach numbers are different - coach would be 402 or 407 on this trip and bed numbers in a Double Deluxe (with shower/WC) would be either 32/36, 42/46 or 52/56).

Also, the price for two Eurail passholders in a Double Deluxe cabin should be 2x94€ = 188€

Hope all gets sorted out correctly. :)

I thought you anonymized the coach and bed numbers :) There are no coaches 999 or beds 999 that I\'m aware of, so whatever this is, it\'s almost certainly not a real reservation. Did you try to make the reservation directly though Eurail? https://www.eurail.com/en/reservations/eurailcom-reservation-service

If all all fails, write to the ÖBB complaint service and raise a stink :)

Very happy to report that it DID get sorted out:

I took care of the solution for your journey.


I rebooked the same journey an the 11th May 2018 from Vienna main station (Wien Hbf) to Venezia Santa Lucia with a double sleeper compartment.
