Hi Aoife, welcome to railcc!
I have received no news regarding the reintroduction of a direct train from Belgrade to Sarajevo, not even any connecting services (with changing trains at the border) is in sight. You will have to go by bus - book via [ux]https://rail.shop/getbybus[/ux] or [ux]https://rail.shop/busticket4me/[/ux]. There are two bus stations in Sarajevo, most buses from Belgrade call at Istocno far away from the city centre, close to the airport: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/sarajevo/lukavica-istocno-sarajevo-bus-station/l3617[/ux]. If possible, book a bus to the central bus station which is much closer to the city centre: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/sarajevo/sarajevo-central-bus-station/l3616[/ux]. Still it wouldn\'t be a problem to get from Istocno to the city centre (by bus or taxi).
The railway line serving Dubrovnik has been closed in 1976 and since been dismantled. You will have to go by bus again. I highly recommend taking the train from Sarajevo to Mostar first, a truly beautiful railway line across the Ivan Pass and through the Neretva valley. I am currently editing a blog post about this line, meanwhile you can have a look at the German blog: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/de/sarajevo-mostar-capljina-zug/[/ux]
From Mostar (or Sarajevo) you have direct buses to Dubrovnik. Book via the above links.
If you are going to travel with Interrail, support our work by purchasing your passes via our partner link, thank you! Until the end of August we still offer 5% discount: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/interrail-discount/[/ux]
If you have more questions just ask. :)
