Hola, I'm travelling alone this year and I'm wondering, from people's experiences and opinions, what would be the best way to carry money during my holiday. I'm visiting Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia (the first and last are euros, so I'll need 3 different currencies).
Should I go with traveller's cheques, cash, or open an account with a bank that doesn't charge for withdrawing money abroad? Cash is easier, of course, but the least safe option. Traveller's cheques are obviously the safest option but I understand it's sometimes a bit of a hassle trying to find places to cash them?

If you can get one, and arent going anywhere too remote, get a nationwide debit card, as they dont charge for overseas withdrawals. You dont even have to use it for the rest of the year (its a bit of a rubbish account), mine stays almost empty untill the summer...
Travellers cheques are a bit of a pain, and always keep a little cash somewhere safe, for emergencies

Cheers. =) I don't think Nationwide will let me have a debit card since I'm under 18, though. I applied for a FlexAccount and they offered me something called a Cash Card. Do you think I will be able to use this abroad if need be?
Also, how much cash do you think I should take to last me a 3-day trip? I'll be three days in Berlin, three days in Prague and three days in Budapest.

Probalby not - it needs to be a visa debit card to work in most cash machines.
It depends on whether you have already paid for your accomoadation - and what you are planning on doing. Will you be eating out, or cooking for yourself for example?
