Hi there,

I am trying to book reservations online but prices are either not available/wont be delivered in time before i leave on my travels. Are reservations available at the train stations and are they the same price as online?

Hi and welcome to railcc!

We can help you in more detail if you can tell us which reservations you need and where you did try to buy them.
In general, train reservations are available locally at staffed train stations in the country where the train operates and in most countries you can also buy international reservations for trains running entirely in other countries.

The prices we list at [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation[/ux] usually apply when purchased locally at a station or via the online reservation service of the railway operating the specific train.

Support our work by purchasing your official Interrail pass via our partner link: [ux]http://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - thank you! :)

I am trying to purchase them through reservations.interrail.eu

The main ones I am trying to book reservations for are:

1. barcelona - madrid
2. madrid - lisbon
3. lisbon - paris
4. paris - krakow

the rest are trains which do not require a reservation. If i leave it till at the station will they be sold out or is it still possible to purchase them there?

1) Barcelona - Madrid: AVE high speed trains operate at least once per hour; no problem to buy reservation locally at the station (Barcelona Sants or Barcelona Franca: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/barcelona/station/c[/ux]

2) Madrid - Lisbon: In theory also available in Barcelona, but I have heard some stories from travellers in Spain who didnt get Interrail reservations at other stations than the originating station. I can only recommend to insist on the reservation when you are in Barcelona - they should be used to Interrail travellers ;)

3) Lisbon - Paris: This are two separate reservations: for the night train from Lisbon to Irun/Hendaye; available either in Lisbon (Santa Apolonia, Rossio or Oriente); or in Spain. TGV reservation for Hendaye - Paris is available online via [ux]https://rail.shop/sncf/reservation/[/ux]

4) Paris - Krakow: This journey includes several changes of trains and I do not know which exact route you want to take, so difficult to help.

So considering we will be moving around lots it\'ll be okay to get all reservations at the station?

If there are connections for example on lisbon - paris. can we purchase both tickets in one go at lisbon?

Should the prices be similar to the online reservation service or will the be cheaper considering there will be no booking fee?

Thank you this is so useful?

It depends on your route and the trains you want to get.

For instance, the night trains to/from Lisbon are the only ways to get into/out of Portugal that make sense for you so I would recommend to book as early as possible. Some more info on these night trains: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/night-train-irun-madrid-lisbon/[/ux]

On the other hand, on the Barcelona - Madrid route with frequent services it is no problem to make the reservation locally at short notice.

Lisbon - Paris used to be available at the station in Lisbon when I was travelling there last year.

As mentioned, the prices we list at [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation[/ux] are the prices that apply when purchasing locally at a train station. In most countries (except for NL, BE) no booking fees apply (only a small booking fee of ~0,50€ applies in ES) when purchasing at a station.
