Hey there.
Some questions about my InterRail trip I\'m going to do this July.
- About optional reservations: can I however get on the train even if it\'s full, right? And when I found a free seat, can I sit down there?
- Making my compulsory reservations, I\'m using InterRail service. However, it doesn\'t show me seat numbers, neither any detail. Why?
I have to reserve a ICE high speed train from Hamburg to Nykoebing (but DB website doesn\'t show me the reservation possible), a SJ high speed train from Copenaghen to Stockholm and a SJ night train from Stockholm to Malmo (but SJ website makes me book the entire ticket, not only the reservation). Some help?
Thank you!

Hi Andrea and welcome to railcc!
Optional reservations:
You can hop on the train without a reservation and take any free seat you find. If a train would be really full and all seats are taken you can still board the train; however if it gets _really_ full sometimes passengers without a reservation are asked to leave the train (since emergency exists could be blocked). But if you avoid travelling on main routes on Friday/Sunday evening it is very unlikely that this will happen. ;)
Personally, I never make a reservation on trains with "optional" reservation.
Other trains:
Hamburg - Nykobing: Why Nykobing; are you going to Copenhagen? You can also travel via Flensburg - Fredericia; these trains also require a reservation, however are not as crowded as the direct trains via Puttgarden - Nykobing. I would simply buy the reservation at a train station, for instance in Germany. There it will cost 4,50€ and you can avoid the expenive Interrail reservation service costs.
Copenhagen - Stockholm: Available online either at [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/reservation/[/ux] or via the SJ website at [ux]https://rail.shop/sj[/ux] - got to the english version of the site, choose your travel date and click on "customer card" and choose "Interrail/Eurail", then continue to select your connection and book the reservation.
Stockholm - Malmö: Same as with Copenhagen - Stockholm.

Optional reservations:
Thank you very much!
Other trains:
Hamburg - Nykoebing: I think I\'ll take the train to Nykoebing because I will have to go from Berlin to Copenaghen, early in the morning (I think I\'ll leave Berlin at 7am), to have more time to visit Copenaghen. Then, I\'ll travel via Flensburg - Fredericia on my return trip, from Aarhus to Hamburg, so I thought that taking a different train in a different route could be more interesting! Am I wrong? However, do you think that I can reserve that train in Berlin directly in the station when I\'ll arrive in Berlin (3 days before the train will leave)? Is it safe? Will the seat be available?
Copenhagen - Stockholm and Stockholm - Malmö: Thank you, I\'ll try!
I\'m sorry I can\'t directly support your work, I\'ve already bought the ticket on InterRail website, because I\'ve discovered Eurail only in these days :( I\'m sorry.
Thank you again for your answers, Flo! You\'re awesome!

OK.. :(
When are your travelling? Where are you going to be before Berlin? You dont have to reserve in Berlin (although it is possible there), you could also make the reservation at another station before you go to Berlin.
Also, you could maybe use the Berlin - Malmö night train: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/berlin-malmoe-en-300/58[/ux]
Travelling both routes between Germany and Copenhagen is a good idea anyways. ;)

I\'m travelling from 15th to 31st of July.
Before Berlin, I\'m going to be in Prague, maybe a little while in Villach and, surely, in Udine, my city, where I\'m starting my trip. Maybe I can ask if I can reserve the seat in the station. Do you think it would? ;)
I know that night train and I could take it, because I\'m travelling on friday, but I\'ve already booked my accommodation in Berlin, and it\'s really cheap, so I think I will travel in the morning!

However, I\'ve tried the SJ website to make the reservations, and it works. I\'ll make them there. Thank you!

Definitely no problem in Villach and Prague, Udine might work as well - would be interested to hear from your experience! ;)
