How can we book overnight train tickets online from Split to Budapest? We are going spend a week in Split on July 2017 and head to Budapest after that week. It would be great if we could book our tickets in advance. We would like to make sure we get to Budapest on time.

Hi and welcome to railcc!
Hungarian Railways MAV START sell tickets online via [ux]http://rail.shop/mav[/ux], however you have to collect the tickets at a ticket machine in Hungary before departure - so unfortunately that is no option for travelling from Split to Budapest. :(
I do not know of another possibility to buy tickets online for that train; Croatian Railways HZ PP dont sell tickets for this train online: [ux]https://rail.shop/hzpp/[/ux] and also ACP Rail [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/[/ux] apparently cant sell the train online.
However since the train is running daily this summer [ux]https://rail.cc/en/night-train/split-budapest-b1205/133[/ux] so if you book your tickets locally in Split I think it wont be a problem to get tickets.
