I\'m planning to go from Kitzbühel to Salzburg on a Sunday in July. One option has a change of trains that must be accomplished in four minutes, going from track 2 to track 3 in Schwarzach-St. Veit. Is that an easy change: the platform is in between tracks 2 & 3 or does one have to run to stairs to go over or under track 2 to get to track 3? The train arrives at 10:46 am and the connection is at 10:50 am.

Do the Austrian trains run so on time that the change can easily happen in 4 minutes without running? Due to recently fracturing my foot I am not going to be running to catch any train connections this summer...

Hi and welcome to railcc!

Platform 2 and 3 are opposite each other, you do not need to use the underpass. Just walk across the platform. If a connection is shown at a schedule planner such as [ux]http://plan.rail.cc/[/ux] or [ux]https://rail.shop/scotty[/ux] it means that it is possible to reach the connecting train under normal operating circumstances. There is a "minimum connection time" set for each station and only connections that reach that time for changing trains are shown.
The connecting train will also wait for passengers in case of shorter delays.

Are you going to travel with single tickets or a rail pass?

Hi, Flo -

I\'m purchasing a single ticket because this is my only journey by train this summer. Thanks for the specific information! I appreciate it.

Ok perfect; in the (unlikely ;) ) case that you should miss the connection you could travel to Salzburg with the next possible train and would be entitled to a refund of 25% for a delay longer starting at 60 minutes (50% starting at 120 minutes). :)
