Hi there
I am travelling from Vienna to Berlin and one of the changes needs to be at Breclav station. We have 3 minutes from leaving the Vienna train to catching the Prague train where we get our connection to Berlin. Is it possible for us to make it in time, I can only imagine the only way to do it is if the Prague train leaves from the same platform as we arrive on from Vienna. Has anybody else done this journey

Hi Helenruby and welcome to rail.cc,

yes, both trains normally call at the same platform on opposite tracks so you just have to walk across the platform to the other train.

In general, connecting train services only appear in the schedule planner if there is enough time available to change between the two trains. Each station has a "minimum connection time" and only connections with enough time between trains appear in the schedule planners.

Are you travelling with a rail pass (Interrail/Eurail) or do you have single tickets?
I assume this is the connection leaving Vienna at 08:10?

You\'re welcome! :)
OK, so if all goes wrong you could get a later train to Berlin; if you feel unsure about the connection you could also take a later train from Vienna (09:10) to Prague and change there to Berlin which would take one hour more compared to your connection at 08:10 but would offer you the possibility of a quick walk around Prague.

Hi Helen...
A very short tour in Prague i easily possible from Prague main station, like Flo already told. :)
And don\'t miss then the restaurant car from Prague to Berlin. But make sure, to eat and drink before crossing the border to Germany, as you then get saver prices. :)
