Hello,

I am a NZ citizen and am expecting to get EU residency just before starting my train trip, but I will not get a chance to get the official residency stamps in my passport before that. I would like to buy an Interrail ticket as it is half the price of the Eurail ticket.

Can I buy an Interrail ticket and just show my residency papers during my trip to support that I have got EU residency? Or do I need to buy an Eurail pass?

Many thanks for any input.

Hi and welcome to rail.cc,

the official rule regarding proof of residency states:

"Proof of residence can be established by government issued residency documents."

This means that your passport doesn\'t really matter as long as you have official documents stating your residency in a EU (or other European country that is part of the Interrail offer). Phone bills, rental agreements etc are not enough to prove your residency.
You would then have to order your Interrail pass with your NZ passport number which will be printed on the ticket; you have to state your country of residence in the EU which will then also be printed on your ticket. While travelling you then need your NZ passport (to prove your identity) and your residency documents (to prove your EU residency).

Support our work by getting your official Interrail pass through our partner link: [ux]http://rail.shop/interrail/[/ux] - thank you! :)
