Hello,

I made search Route Planner to find a train for Interrail.
I found several choices at the bottom:
--without HST+IC/EC+IR/D
--without HST/trains with surcharge
--without HST
--without HST+IC/EC

I do not know their difference.
I'll buy the interrail global and want to avoid the train for which i have to pay supplements.

Which one should i take?
TKS :D

Hi.

There is no all in one solution for InterRailers.
You have to play a little bit!

HST = High Speed Trains: in most countries like Italy, Spain, France you have to pay supplements. but for example not in Germany with the ICE.

IR/D = normally no supplements

IC/EC = often with supplement

So you have to try it from country to country and compare it with the list of trains listed on railcc:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

If you use the option without HST/trains with surcharge, you won't pay supplements. this is sure, but it might be a slower connection than you could take (like for example in Germany, where you can use the HighSpeedTrains for free)!! :)

To make it easier for you, we listed already a lot of connections free of extra fess:
