Train from Varna to Istanbul- what days

Hello Hania,

there is no direct train from Varna to Istanbul. However you can travel from Varna to Stara Zagora and take the night train to Istanbul from there:

Varna 1530 - 1931 Stara Zagora
Stara Zagora 2220 - 0718 Istanbul

Another option is to train to Plovdiv:

Varna 1530 - 2120 Plovdiv
Plovdiv 2310 - 0718 Istanbul

You can buy the tickets locally at the RILA agency (international tickets) in Varna at the station.
Alternatively you can also look into direct buses running from Varna to Istanbul.

One more question :when do the train departure?it written 1-Monday,7-Sunday ,but on the schedules does not say if the departure is on Sunday or Monday (from Sofia to Istanbul).I am a little confused.

Check out Metro Turizm [ux]https://www.metroturizm.com.tr[/ux] for buses beween Turkey and Greece - you might have to enter the Turkish names for the cities in Greece!

Alternatively, you can travel from Edirne by taxi to the Greek border at Kastanies; cross the border on foot and travel from Kastanies by train to Alexandroupoli and on to Thessaloniki: [ux]rail.shop/ose[/ux]
