Hey guys,

my boyfriend and me purchased an Internal-Ticket, 15 days a row from 31st July to 14th August and we would like to visit Eastern Europe and maybe Austria or Switzerland by train. We will start with Poland, citys Warsaw and Krakow, then Hungary with Budapest, we really don\'t want to change the place everyday and we also don\'t want to see just the capitals of the countries but more landscape and some picturesque towns or villages. Night Train is also okay.

Do you have an idea for a route for us?

Thanks for your answers,

Jojo & Alex

Hi Jojo and Alex,

I hope you purchased your ticket through our partner link [ux]http://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] to support our work - thank you!

From Krakow and Warsaw you could take a night train directly to Budapest which is quite convenient. From there you could go to Vienna and from there directly by night train to Zurich.

If you want to explore some smaller villages in Austria, you could go to the Salzkammergut area; have a look at Gmunden, Bad Ischl, Bad Goisern, Hallstatt, Bad Aussee - but please be aware that this is a quite touristy region ;)
You can easily reach these cities from Vienna via Attnang-Puchheim; on weekends there even is a direct train running.

Another option would be to go from Vienna to Czech Republic; have a look at Cesky Krumlov (the most touristy place), Kutna Hora, Loket. Then take the night train from Prague to Zurich: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/prague-zurich-night-train/[/ux]
Of course, you could also take the night train from Krakow or Warsaw to Prague, then explore the Czech villages I mentioned above; then go to Vienna and Budapest and take the night train from Budapest to Zurich: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/budapest-zurich-en-60466/178[/ux]

In Switzerland, Luzern is a pretty nice city; but also have a look at Fribourg/Freiburg, Murten (a nice walled city at a lake), Chur, Porrentruy and especially nearby St Ursanne; if you are looking for some mediterranean feeling look at Locarno/Ascona.

Hi
I was told today the Sarajevo to Ostrava train is not currently operating because of maintenance in the lines. I want to do this train trip on 13 April 2017 so was wondering if it is expected to be operating by this time.
Thanks in advance
