Hello, I have 2 queries:

• I want to start my journey from Sofia to Zagreb, with a stopover on Belgrade station. The exact itinerary is: Sofia (20:30) - Belgrade (04:36) & Belgrade (11:00) - Zagreb (18:12).
I know that, using the 19:00 rule, all this route is one travel day. Correctly?
Can i use the 19:00 rule on my 1st travel day?
• My next route is: Zagreb (21:22) - Wien (07:46), but i have to change train in Villach Hbf at 01:31. After just 15 min it departs and arrives in Wien at 07:46.
Since i have an intermediate change before 04:00, is it correct to use the 19:00 rule for this route?

Best regards,
Fotis

Hi Fotis,

when are you going to travel?
Please be aware that the night train Sofia - Belgrade will not run in 2017, the last day of operation will be 10 December 2016.

On your other overnight trip; you do not have to change trains in Villach: The train from Zagreb continues to Salzburg and on to Munich. The train to Vienna (coming from Venice) is attached to the train to Munich in Villach and both trains run together until Salzburg where the trains arrive at 04:09 in the morning. There, the trains split again and the train from Zagreb continues to Munich and the train from Venice continues to Vienna. I hope this wasnt too complicated... :D
Anyways, you can stay in your seat from Zagreb until Salzburg, using the 1900 rule. In Salzburg change to the part of the train running to Vienna. As both trains run together between Villach and Salzburg it shouldnt be a problem to change in Villach already I think.

Firstly, about the overnight trip from Zagreb to Vienna you were absolutely clear. So, i can use the 19:00 rule.

I\'m gonna start to use my global pass (7 travel days in 1 month) from Sofia on 06/12/16 at 20:30. Thus, i don\'t have problem with the operation.
However, using the 19:00 rule, i have to fill in the date 07/12/16 (arrival in Belgrade) as the 1st travel day. Correct?
What, especially, concerns me is:
Can i use the 19:00 rule for the 1st travel day or is not permitted? Also, which has to be the valid starting date of my pass, 06 or 07/12?

And one last thing:
Whenever i use the 19:00 rule for a route, is it necessary to fill in the travel day on the calendar before boarding or inside the train before the arrival station?

I hope i didn\'t confuse you.. :)
Many thanks for your quick response.

OK great :)

You can use the 1900 rule on the first day; however your pass has to be valid already. In your case, the first day of validity of your pass has to be 6th December. You take the night train from Sofia on 6th December in the evening and enter 7th December as your first travel day - before boarding! Read more here: https://rail.cc/en/how-to-interrail I guess we could word this more clearly?
Also, you fill in the complete journey from Sofia to Belgrade in the travel calendar that is attached to your pass.

You can support us buy buying your pass through our partner link to interrail.eu: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] Thank you!
