Hi Richard,
the official rule is:
In the case of a Flexipass, the passenger must enter the date of travel each day before he/she boards the first train of the day. BritRail Passes are valid from 00:00 hrs to 24:00 hrs (Midnight to Midnight) on a chosen day of travel. If a pass holder is traveling on an overnight train containing sleeper accommodation, the next day’s date must be inserted.
I have read contradicting accounts about the 1900 rule applying; I will contact the relevant operators and see what they answer.

Definitely possible on Caledonian Sleeper services; still waiting for GWR (Night Riviera) to answer. :)

On the Caledonian Sleeper I had the experience that the conductor wanted to see only the Sleeper Supplement (which is expensive enough) and in rail forums people reported the same. So if you have a Flexi pass, I would write down the travel date only if the conductor tells you to do, that can save you one travel date.

OK, I actually received an answer from GWR today... :D
So, you only need one day of your Flexi Pass on the night Riviera. They didnt clarify though if the 1900 rule would also work "in reverse" (eg you mark only the day of departure instead of the day of arrival), but I doubt it.

Hi Flo
Thanks for doing the research on the British application of the 19:00 rule. I am still 14 months away from my BritRail trips so I will "file it away" for reference.
At the moment I am reserving the nightjet sleepers for July-August this year and having success on getting (nearly) all I would wish for (Deluxe single +WC and shower0. Just Warsaw, Krakow and Rijeka are proving a bit difficult. [Sorry this subject is in the wrong place.]
Best wishes
Richard
