Is it worth to buy a travel card when in London or does the Interrailcard give any discount?

Is the Healthrow Express free if I have the interrailcard?

Depends what your doing. The interrail ticket doesnt work on the underground, or on TFL operated overground services. It should be valid on other suburban lines run by companies on this list:

- Arriva Trains Wales
- c2c
- Chiltern Railways
- CrossCountry Trains
- East Midlands Trains
- First Capital Connect
- First Greater Western
- First TransPennine Express
- First ScotRail
- Gatwick Express
- Grand Central
- Heathrow Express
- Hull Trains
- London Midland
- Merseyrail Electrics
- National Express East Anglia
- National Express East Coast
- New Southern Railway
- Northern Rail
- Southeastern
- South West Trains
- Stansted Express
- Virgin Trains

for an overview click here: www.nationalrail.co.uk

so the answer to number 2 is yes

one day off peak (travelling after 0930) Zones 1-2 travel card is £4.80

You can also pay a £3 refundable deposit on a oyster card (plastic credit card size smart card - electronic re-useable ticket) which you then can load up with money (£5 denominations) and 'Pay as You Go' a bus ride is 90p single - get off when you want, tube travel £1-£2 (depends on the zones u travel - 1-2£ is for zones 1+2) with oyster, you will never spend more than the cost of a travel card. So for example, load the oyster card up with £5, travel between 0930-0430 the next day and the most youll pay is £4.80 - bus rides are included on this cap.

or you can buy a paper season ticket or have this loaded onto your oyster card - you can buy 3, 7 day tickets (7day zones 1+2 - £21) or one month, annual...

for touristey stuff, the overground isnt much good - only really good if you live in zones 2-6

i would suggest using a oyster on top of your interrail, especially for zone one travel -

Oyster tube single = £1.50
Without oyster = £4.00 (yes, FOUR ENGLISH POUNDS!:O

Oyster Bus Single = £0.90
Without oyster = £2
