Looking at a travel from Bruges via Brussel to Amsterdam.

Between Brussel and Amsterdam I will like to use the Thaleys or the IC-service, but would like a day or two in Brussel.
If buying a Thaleys ticket I can choose the ABS (Any Belgian Station), and then pay 7€ un top of the Brussel-Amsterdam fare - but this only allow me to travel the day before the Thaleys train, as I can see it
If going by IC and buying a ticket from Bruges to Amsterdam for the price of 53€, will it then be a normal International ticket - and then allow me to break the journey as I wish? E.g. in Brussel, and again in Den Haag and again in Rotherdam - as you may with normal international tickets?

Can I pay any surcharge for using the Thaleys service with such a ticket, if I wish to do so?

While writing this I now see that b-europe also offer some 19€ tickets between Bruges and Amsterdam - what are the conditions on this tickets in relation to the above questions?

Thanks in advance

Hi!

If you buy a ticket for an IC you cant use Thalys trains and vice versa - they are different carriers: 0019 (Thalys) and 1088/1184 (SNCB/NS). The IC full fare ticket is valid for one day and breaks of journey are allowed. As opposed to a regular SCIC-NRT ticket it seems that validity is one day only for journeys within the Benelux countries.

Furhter to FLo:
Yes, INT tix bought IN (or via their www-sites) BE + NL are only valid 1 day for the whole trip. Its just that you can still choose the actual day of travel in that 15-day period.
IF you live somehwere else, then you likely get a 15-day normal SCIC-INT ticket with unlimited breaks ONLY along the shortest route! From Brugge to NL this is NOT via brussel, but direct Gent-Antwerpen-NL. This is: IF your local train-comp can+want to sell it.
For now-unitll around 6/10, you can buy cheap 1-day singles for just 19 eur-ONLY valid mo-thurs, after 9.00, from any BE to any Nl station, via b-rail.be (as this takes any cred-cd unlike NSinternational)-its home print e-ticket. Its even 33% cheaper for junior<26.
IF you are junior<26, its MUCH cheaper to buy In BE the Go-pass 1 single ticket for just 6 eur-any trip, but NO breaks allowed, IF you want to see more of BE, it might be worthwhile to buy the 10-trip GO pass for 51 eur. You can also buy slightly more expens. Go-1 to Roosendaal-then get off, buy new NL ticket-this cost you 27 mins more.
Other suggestion: from Brugge take bus 40 to Breskens ferry (every hour, takes 75 mins), take ferry, you land in Vlissingen and then use NS trains onward-ev 30 mins to AMS, via Schiphol airport. (bus 6 eur, ferry 3,50). Then you see some parts that normal usual tourists hardly ever see.
If you are not averse to bus-travel: for the province of Zeeland a dayticket cost 16 eur and you can use pretty fast express buses (all ev, hour mo-fr, less weekends) and see the DELTAworks-how NL saved itself from all the waters. VLissingen-Middelburg-133 to Zierikzee-then change into InterLiner 395 direct to Rotterdam (zuidplein metro). You also pass historic small towns like Veere, Brouwershaven and the summer-beach place of Renesse. You can get off and take next bus onward-its a dayticket!
The very cheapest direct is of course the long-dist bus: Eurolines and Flixbus. Fixed booking, low price, expect delays.
