I'd like to visit Lake Traun after my stay at Berlin...I was wondering what the best route to do that is? I don't mind going on a night train if a connection is possible. I was thinking of going from Berlin to Salzburg, would I need to go Berlin->Vienna->Salzburg?

Hi Bryan,

depending on how much of your plans have changed you have three main routes to get to Lake Traun.
a) (Night) train Berlin - Vienna, then IC or Westbahn to Attang-Puchheim and connection to Gmunden, Bad Ischl etc...
b) Berlin - Prague https://rail.cc/blog/berlin-prague-train/ then a direct train via Ceske Budejovice to Linz, onwards to Attnang-Puchheim.
c) Berlin - Munich with ICE, then onwards to Salzburg - Attnang-Puchheim.
