I have purchased an Interrail Global Pass and am very stressed regarding reserving 2 seats on the night train from Milan to Vienna through the Trenitalia website. The instructions on rail.cc said to input 00000000 in the box labelled ticket number if you are using a Interrail pass, however the Interrail website says to:

Fill in the order number of your Interrail pass in the 'ticket number support' box. Click Continue. Your order number is the number on your pass that starts with IN. It consists of 8 numbers if you purchased your pass from Interrail.eu.

Having already bought my tickets and typing in 00000000 I would like to know if my reservation will be invalid leaving me at risk of a fine once I board the train. Furthermore if that is the case, is there a way to change that number on my current booking with Trenitalia so I dont have to book the reservation again and pay another 18 euros?

Any help would be appreciated :(

Hi Josh,

I wouldnt worry. Never this number has been checked on my reservations. As long as you have your tickets plus the reservation why should the conductor make any fuss. Definitely no need to buy another reservation.

Thanks for pointing out the wrong information on the site though, I'll look into fixing it. :)
