Hello!

I'm travelling with my partner, who qualifies for a youth pass, while I am 28 and have to get an adult pass. It seems you can only get a 2nd class youth pass; is there any difference between the first class ticket and the 2nd class ticket? Will he be able to upgrade if I do get a first class ticket?

Thanks

Amy

hi Amy...

you can buy each time you use a train an upgrade to the first class. but it is not very nice to relax as you always need to go the station and buy the upgrade, not just jumping into a train and let's go ... ;)

I know from families traveling together (ADULTS with the 1st class tickets) and they don't pay each time the upgrades as the bought their kids (YOUTH) the ADULT passes as well, but with the right birth date (=YOUTH birth date) in it. it is expensive but seems to be possible.
I know it is bad that there are no YOUTH 1st class tickets...!!! :(

for the difference between 1st and 2nd class there is already a topic which might be interesting for you:
