What should not be missed of the Netherlands... Phoe. Always these difficult questions.
Let's begin with:

I've written down alot of information in here what has to be seen and what not.
If there's just one tip I can give, just visit Amsterdam just once, In my opinion it has nothing to do with the whole Netherlands... The second biggest cities like Den Haag and Utrecht are way less crowded with tourists and more with locals. Go to Utrecht if you want to have the same feeling if you are in Amsterdam, small shops, lively student city. And to Den Haag/Scheveningen for some old style and the very popular beach (if it the weather will get any better than last weeks...).
Ofcourse there are many more interesting cities I can tell about, but most of the time these tips are more than enough since everybody just goes to Amsterdam.
I personaly like London as well, can be there several days, next year I want to do a Great Britain tour as well :)

Hi Nadine!
NL: Besides the obvious Amsterdam, Delft is a very charming alternative but also quite touristy already I think.
GB: London is for GB what Amsterdam is for NL; I quite liked Glasgow and Edinburgh. From London you can make nice day trips using the night train to Cornwall: https://rail.cc/blog/london-penzance-night-riviera/ - St Ives is pretty nice :)
There are many other nice places though - look at Manchester and Liverpool, Chester, York, Cambridge, Bristol. Travel to Fort William and maybe also continue to Mallaig (especially if you are into Harry Potter).
Ireland: I've only been to Dublin and Belfast; also interesting are Cork, the cliffs at Howth and Moher of course but you will need to get a bus to get to the latter.
France: Oh there is so much to see...Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nice of course...or smaller cities such as Le Puy en Velay, Carcassonne, Colmar,...the cliffs at Le Treport, the Ligne de Cevennes,...Rennes and the Bretagne coast (for instance around Paimpol)...the Cote Bleue close to Marseille, the cities along the Cote d'Azur around Nice (Grasse, Antibes, Eze, Menton, Villefranche,...).
