Hi, I am thinking of the following route with a friend for about 10 days ( probably starting 26th of July)
1)Thessaloniki-Belgrade with train (arrival at about 8 in the morning, staying one day)
2)Belgrade-Budva, splitting it in 2 sections
a) Belgrade-Podgorica with the famous Belgrade-Bar railway but not making it till Bar. Stop at Podgorica, train arrives at 19.30 and quick visit to the city (2-3 hours)
b) Podgorica-Budva, either with the 21.30 or 22.30 bus and arrival at Budva at 23.00 or 24.00. Staying one or 2 days ( don't know yet)
3) Budva-Kotor with bus (staying one day)
4) Kotor-Mostar with bus (one day, or two if we visit Kravice Waterfalls)
5) Mostar-Sarajevo (one day)
6)Sarajevo- Belgrade (one more day in Belgrade)
7)and back to Thessaloniki
What do you think about it?
Any reccomendations?

Hi!
Looks good, the only thing I would think about:
The trains down to Montenegro are notoriously late, so I wouldnt count on arriving in Podgorica on time - if your schedule allows for it, plan an extra night there or head to Budva straightaway and maybe make a short day trip to Podgorica afterwards - although there isnt much to see there.

Thank you Flo, so I think I will skip Podgorica and head straight to Budva from Bar. :D
Just another question.
Would you prefer the morning or the night train from Belgrade to Bar? I know the route is very scenic with the morning train, but with the night train I could earn maybe one day more to Montenegro's beaches.

Though question. ;)
On my only trip to Montenegro we took the Budapest - Bar night train which was perfect since it arrives quite late in Bar and we could see the whole part through the mountains down to Montenegro by day light. The Belgrade - Bar train on the other hand arrives quite early (if it is on time) so you would have to get up quite early to be able to see something.
If you have enough time I'd go during the day... :)
