Hi, i'm from China and now i'm studying in Germany for 6 years. I want to have a trip to Switzerland and Italy by using interrail pass. But i'm wondering if i can use it for the train ticket from Köln to Basel and from Basel to Köln.

I read two resources, one said it's ok. (http://railcc.interrail.eu/passes/how-use-your-pass/travel-your-own-country) I can use it 2 times in Germany for outbound and inbound.

Another source said it's not free, i need to pay 50% of the fee. (https://rail.cc/en/how-to-interrail)

Which site is the official site of interrail. It looks like two site are official :'( :'( :'(

If the interrail ticket can cover the ICE train from Köln to Basel, then i will buy it. Because these tickets are expensive.

If not, perhaps i will consider swiss travel pass.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards.

Hi!

Since 2016 you can use Interrail for two trips in your country of residence (inbound/outbound).
Currently we are building a new version of railcc, that's why the info on the old site is not updated anymore.
:arr: https://rail.cc/blog/interrail-whats-new-in-2016/

railcc is official partner of interrail.eu - please buy your official Interrail pass via our partner shop: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - thank you.

If you have any further questions just ask! :)
