Option 1)
Travel from Ljubljana to Nova Gorica (border to Italy), then walk on foot or take the bus across the border to Gorizia Centrale in Italy and take a train from there to Venice, then Florence.
Option 2) Travel from Ljubljana to Sezana, then Villa Opicina in Italy. From there, take the tramway to Trieste and then by train to Venice - Florence
Option 3) Travel from Ljubljana to Villach in Austria, then either take the direct night train to Florence or travel during the day via Venice.
