Hi!

You dont need a reservation for this service; the supplement can be payed on board.

ok thanks on the planner app it says I need one do you think its out of date for some reason ?

My information still is that only a supplement (7€) is needed. Anyway, relax, go to the station in Munich and ask whether an on-board supplement is enough or if you need a seat reservation. As travellers with regular tickets do not need a seat reservation I assume the former is still valid for Interrail too.

I just checked at an Austrian train station - you can either get a regular seat reservation (3,50€ in Austria, 4,50€ in Germany) in advance or pay an on-board supplement of 7€.
