Hi, I have a German passport but haven't lived in Germany since 2011. I've lived in UK since last August as a student. What government issued documents could I use to prove residence? You need to be living 5 years in UK to apply for a residence card and I haven't needed a visa in my passport. Do I have to be classified as a German resident even though I'm not? Anybody know?
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris.
If you do not have a residency permit or something comparable (I personally don't know what type of documents exist in the UK) clearly showing that you live in the UK, you are considered as German resident and have to buy an Interrail pass - country of residence Germany.
As one outbound and inbound travel to your country of residency is included since beginning of 2016, it's much easier now to travel to/from German (or in general your home country).
If you like the information of rail.cc, buy your official Interrail pass via our interrail.eu/rail.cc partner shop [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - thank you, Pete :)
