Hi! I will be travelling with my twin sister this summer and we would love to visit Dubrovnik, Plitvice Lakes and Split. We would like to go from Vienna to Croatia, but is this possible? This will be our first time with train travel and I'm finding it very confusing! Could you recommend a route for us? We would like to go from Croatia into Italy, and it would be so helpful if you could give us some tips for this. We'll have the interail one month continuous pass, so train travel will be the best option.
Thank you so much!
Mollie☺️

Hi Mollie!
The best option would be the direct train from Vienna to Zagreb, dep 1558, arr 2242. There are also a number of connecting services available - check a schedule planner such as [ux]http://plan.rail.cc/[/ux] for different options.
Plitvice and Dubrovnik are not accessible by rail - you are going to have to use buses instead (these are not included in Interrail).
There are plenty of connections from Zagreb to Plitvice and Plitvice to Split as well as between Split and Dubrovnik; just buy your tickets locally.
To get to Italy, you have two options:
a) Travel back from Split to Zagreb, then go via Ljubljana to the Slovenian/Italian border at Nova Gorica/Gorizia or at Sezana/Villa Opicina to continue into Italy.
b) Take either the Split - Ancona or Dubrovnik - Bari ferry
We are official partners of interrail.eu - to support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)
