Hello! My interrail route is: Amsterdam- Berlin- Prague- Krakow- Vienna- Budapest- Split- (Plitvice lakes)-Zagreb- Bled- Venice- Nice- Barcelona.
However, I want to incorporate Neuschwanstein Castle into the route. I was thinking of getting a night train from Vienna- Munich - Fussen to visit the caste and then get a night train back to Vienna at the end of the day.
Do you think this is the best way to incorporate the caste onto the route or is their a better way? Also is it worth going to?
Many thanks :D

Hi.
I would not include a night train, as the night is rather short: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/budapest-munich-en-462/56
Simply change your route a little bit: Amsterdam-Berlin- MUNICH (including Neuschwanstein) - Prague - Vienna ......

If you want to go with the night train, why not - but as Peter said, it is just six hours to Munich and you arrive very early. However, if you'd then continue straightaway to Füssen this could give you the chance to see the castle before the masses arrive. It is very popular with tourists! :D
Then, I would recommend to take the night train Munich to Budapest to continue your trip. Keep in mind that both night trains require a reservation.

Thanks flo and pete! :)
I'm still keen on the idea of getting the night train and I like the idea of continuing to budapest at the end of the day(thanks flo!). Is there much to do in Fussen other than see the castle? Obviously if we're there for the full day it'd be good to do other things there!
I just wondered if there's any storage around the caste where I could store my rucksack? I've read on the website that the castle have lockers but I'm not sure if my rucksack would fit in them..
Also, I'm having the same issue with baggage for my day trip to plitvice lakes! Is there anywhere I could store my rucksack there??
Thanks again! :D

I dont know about Füssen but I'd recommend storing your luggage at München Hauptbahnhof after arriving from the night train and pick it up again in the evening.
Also, if you are finished in Füssen, go back to München whenever you want and spend the rest of the evening there, for instance in a Biergarten... :)
Luggage storage in Bled should be no problem in the tourist information or in one of the hostels.

Hi.
As Flo said, better to leave your luggage already in Munich. The lockers at Füssen station are limited. I was there earlier in the morning and found empty ones. But when I returned, everyone was in use.
See here: https://rail.cc/en/fuessen/fuessen-railway-station/l525
The bus to the castle is right hand side when you leave the station. Details here: https://rail.cc/en/fuessen/fuessen-bus-station/l5794
And you definitely will find aaaa looot of tourists! :)
