My route is working out complicated and expensive. It is from Monday 4th April to Saturday 16th April. We have booked 3 nights of accommodation in Mulhouse because it costs around £30 a night. We want to do day or half day trips to Strasbourg, Colmar, Basel and Freiburg. The Ticket Tri Regio would let us visit Basle for £12-£13. The Alsa Group ticket would let us visit Colmar and Strasbourg for £27-£28. The Dual Two ticket would let us visit Freiburg for £24.25. We are a family of one adult, one 8 year old boy in a wheelchair and one 6 year old girl. We have booked accommodation in Marseille for Thursday 14th and Friday 15th April. That is costing around £45 a night.

I phoned up German Railways in London, UK . The disabled helpline is in Germany and they do wheelchair bookings. It is cheaper to travel from Freiburg to Lugano or Tirano than it is to go from Mulhouse to either of those. We wish to visit Milan after that then end our trip in the South of France. Please help. Would a 5 day Interail Pass be cheaper?

Hi!

Since this year, there are no through bookings Germany - Milan via Switzerland possible. So if you want to head for Milan straightaway, book an advance ticket Basel - Milan via sbb.ch and cover Mulhouse - Basel with a regular ticket.
If you want to go to Tirano, including the Albula and Bernina railway, bookings from Germany are still possible - you could book from Freiburg (or any other station before Basel) to Tirano via [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] and either add an extra trip Mulhouse - Freiburg or Mulhouse - Basel (and let the Freiburg - Basel part of the ticket expire).
From Tirano, travel with Trenord http://trenord.it/ to Milan, tickets are available locally and are cheap.

Milan - Marseille is best done by direct Thello service: https://rail.cc/blog/marseille-mailand-train/

Hi Flo. Many thanks. I have been able to book more accommodation and sort out my route.
