I hope someone can help me. Myself and 3 other friends plan to travel around Europe for 45 days roughly and had hoped to stay in all of the following places during this time:

Amsterdam, Netherlands
Berlin, Germany
Munich, Germany
Prague, Czech Republic
Krakow, Poland
Slovakia (If possible)
Budapest, Hungary
Zagreb Croatia
Plitvice Lakes National Park Croatia
Split, Croatia
Zrce Beach, Croatia (We are going Hideout Festival during our trip for 4-5 days)
Slovenia (If possible)
Venice, Italy
Rome, Italy
Milan, Italy

We would be flying out to Amsterdam before our interailing ticket starts so we would be heading to Germany from the offset and then flying back from Milan at end of trip. Can anyone tell me how this can be done and also if fast trains and night trains are included in the interail ticket? Any help would be very much appreciated! :D

Sure it is possible.

You can plan you trip with trains either by browsing around for good connection here on rail.cc or you can try the on-line planer on bahn.de

Fast trains and night trains are included, but you may have to pay a supplement. If you want a bed on board you have to pay a supplement.

Only two places on you list will not be reachable by train:
- Plitvice Lakes National Park Croatia
- Zrce Beach, Croatia

Zrce Beach are very close to Novalja, and you can find busses to this city on [ux]http://www.akz.hr/[/ux]
Plitvice is also reachable by bus, and you can use the same website to search for connections - or for a mini how-to look at [ux]http://www.buscroatia.com/bus-plitvice-lakes/[/ux]

Enjoy the trip

Thank you for your help. So does the night trains in Germany such as the ICE trains I keep seeing pop up included in the interail ticket? These sort of trains are always over 100 euros and it is why I am somewhat nervy and hoping that that is what is included. Also is there a night train from Prague to Krakow as online it says it is like a 12 hour journey! Any way of making that more bearable would be great haha

Hi!

As you probably know, the maximum duration of the Interrail Pass range is one month. If you are going to travel for 45 days, you would either have to combine two Interrail Passes or use regular tickets towards the beginning or end of your trip. One possibility would be to use a one month Interrail Pass (7 or ten travel days should be enough) and cover the remainder of the trip with single tickets. In Italy, tickets for regional trains are fairly cheap so you could buy them locally to remain flexible. Or buy advance fare tickets for the high speed trains.

Night trains are included, as long as the operating train company accepts Interrail. On your route, you dont have to worry about companies not accepting Interrail though.
List of night trains including reservation fees: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train

For high speed trains the above applies too. In Italy, there are privately run high speed trains called Italo operating from Venice and Milan to Florence and Rome - Interrail is not valid on these trains. However, there are high speed trains operated by the national railway operator running more frequently which you can use with Interrail. These require a reservation (10€).
List of trains and reservation fees: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

ICE trains are included and do not require a reservation. Just hop on the train and get a seat. As you are travelling in a group of four, I'd recommend to get a seat reservation though if you want guarantee that you can sit together.

Prague - Krakow night train takes just eight hours: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/prague-krakow-en-443/148
Dont be afraid of long train journeys, especially overnight. ;)

We are official partners of interrail.eu - to support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

Yes, ICE in Germany is included - just hop on. If you want to be sure to sit down buy a cheap reservation - you can do this online or at a station.

Prague to Krakow kan be done in a little over 7 hours during the day - make a change in Katowice.
Direct night trains are not an option right now, but you can change around 3am in Ostrava - not the best option in my opinion, BUT in the summer months this connection will be direct, so go for it!

What do you mean by Praha - Krakow night train is no option now? EN 402/403 are not affected by the Bohumin signal box fire, according to CD.

This is what I mean it is hard to know what trains are available. For example it says there are no night trains between Berlin and Munich as well but it does elsewhere. I would love to have a full on breakdown of each place I am going to and the quickest way to travel from place to place in the least time and preferably over night to spare up the day

The night train Berlin - Munich has been withdrawn last December: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/berlin-munich-cnl1247/28

If something is unclear during your planning, the best thing is to ask in the forum .

Sorry, I have been offline for some time.

Sorry if I wrote wrong informations about the night train - I did a search for it, and I could not book it online. But thanks for the information that it is possible anyway!

Nevermind - the night trains to/from Krakow and Warsaw often suffer from schedule planners not displaying the through coaches correctly, so that it seems that you have to change in the middle of the night what is not true of course.
Also, night trains via Bohumin (CZ) have been affected by the signal box fire I mentioned so I wasnt sure if you were referring to that. ;)
