Hello everyone,
My boyfriend and I are planning on going interrailing this summer for one month.
Our 'ideal' route would be: Amsterdam - Bruges - Cologne (via brussels) - Copenhagen (via Hamburg) - Berlin - Munich - Prague - Krakow - Budapest - Ljubljana - Zagreb - Venice - Rome - Nice - Barcelona - Paris. We have estimated on spending 2 days in most cities and 1 in a few where we are planning on doing a whistle stop tour.
We will both be first time travellers so are looking for advice on whether this route is achievable to do within a month and in the order as stated above (as well as any other tips you feel appropriate). I should also mention that we will be starting and finishing in the UK.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi!
Your route seems pretty well set out - there is not much to rearrange. However you should not underestimate the distances/travel times for some parts of the route, especially if you want to avoid paying high extra fees.
You could think of doing Berlin - Prague (https://rail.cc/blog/berlin-prague-train/) - night train to Krakow - night train to Budapest - (night) train to Munich (with optional stopover in Vienna or Salzburg) - night train to Zagreb - Ljubljana - Venice.
Rome - Nice - Barcelona will be two very long travel days. Each leg is possible within one day but you may think about splitting at least one leg with an additional overnight stop.
Alternatively you could also think of getting the ferry Civitavecchia (close to Rome) - Barcelona, then going to Nice an finally to Paris.
IMO, Bruges, Cologne, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Venice would be cities where one day would be enough. That way you would have a bit of extra time you could use for travelling long distance or adding an extra stop along the way.
To start your trip, you could think of taking the Dutchflyer to Hook of Holland: https://rail.cc/blog/from-london-to-amsterdam-with-the-dutchflyer/
To end the trip, either take the Eurostar from Paris or travel by ferry Calais - Dover.

Depends on how many extra time you have planned before/after_ coming from UK obviously Brugge is the closest by-and BUS (coach for you) is always the cheapest option ''to the continent''. There is Eurols (=Nat Expr for UK), megabus and ouibus (owned by French railways-thus very state-official), not all stop in Br. Or the German railways owned-weekend only- DB ICbus from LON to Antwerpen-technically , as IR now allows a return trip from/in the home country, this should be doable with paying only the REServation fee-but I have not seen any info on it. Maybe call DB office in the UK for more info about this. To/from Kobenhavn is quite a detour and eats lots of time.
