Hi,

me and a group of friends are planning to take this route in July this year using a 10 travel day pass, I was wondering if this is possible and whether or not we should reserve any trains? I am also open to suggestions about changing aspect of the route if anyone has any ideas and any other tips/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi!

Basically your route is easy and straightforward. How large is your group? I'd recommend to avoid trains with compulsory reservation as you will be more flexible regarding possible changes of route.

Paris - Antwerp: Avoid the expensive Thalys train and instead travel with slower regional trains via Amiens - Lille - Gent.
Antwerp - Amsterdam: Again, avoid the Thalys and take the hourly direct Intercity: https://rail.cc/blog/amsterdam-brussels-train/
Amsterdam - Berlin: https://rail.cc/blog/amsterdam-berlin/
Berlin - Prague: Direct trains every two hours, no reservation required (blog coming soon) ;)
Prague - Munich: There are four daily direct trains which do not require a reservation plus several direct faster IC Buses by Deutsche Bahn with compulsory reservation
Munich - Zurich: Again, you can choose between free direct trains or slightly faster IC Buses with compulsory reservation.
Zurich - Milan: The direct EC trains require a reservation (11€); you can travel the same route without reservations too. Personally I would recommend this route: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
