Hello,
I purchased an Interrail ticket for Germany for 6 days. I would like to know wheter S-Bahn is covered by my ticket, but the information I could find online is frustratingly vague:
An Interrail pass is also valid on the S-Bahn (suburban metro railways) networks that DB operates in major German cities, including the capital, Berlin.
In major German cities - in all of them, or just in some? I am interested in Frankfurt and the surrounding towns such as Wiesbaden, Mainz and Darmstadt. Will I be able to use my Interrail Pass for all of them?
Somewhere in this forum, I read that if the S-Bahn is operated by DB (which I will see on the logo), I am fine. Good, but I'd like to plan my schedule ahead of time. According to the information I found, the Rhine-Main S-Bahn system belongs to the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) and is operated by DB Regio AG, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG.
Could anyone confirm that I understand this correctly and can use my pass for the whole S-Bahn network around Frankfurt?
An additional question: I suppose I need to use a travel day for S-Bahn. Correct?

Hi!
I hope you purchased your IR pass via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] to support our work. ;)
You can have a look at the detailed list with all carriers accepting Interrail in Germany here: [ux]http://www.diebefoerderer.de/uploads/media/Internationale_Passangebote-SCIC_01.pdf[/ux]
In the Frankfurt area, the line from Kahl to Schöllkrippen is not included; apart from that I dont know about a railway that you couldnt use.
Metro and tramway lines are not included.

Hm, I'm afraid I haven't - I bought my pass two weeks ago without being aware of your site. :) By the way, I should have waited: there's a 15% Christmas discount....
Could you please tell me whether I will need to use one of my six travel days for S-Bahn? Or can I use S-Bahn anytime during the 30 days? I suppose it's the former.

Dont worry - but for the next time, remember us ;)
You'll have to use a travel day if you want to use S-Bahn.
