Hello!

I'm currently planning my next interrail trip to Balkan.
I'm considering going to Albania, but I wanted to check if anyone could give me some tips/advice about the country and travelling there in general.
I noticed interrail passes are not valid there and that public transportation is scarce?

Any information is appreciated!

Hi Sami!

Havent been to Albania yet but here's some information FWIW.

Interrail is not valid (and would be a waste of money) and there are no international passenger services.
There's kind of regular service between Durres and Kashar (close to Tirana, you have to take bus or taxi to get to the center) but only one or two trains each day on the other lines to Shkoder, Elbasan, Librazhd and Fier. Currenlty no service to Vlore and Pogradec.
Tickets are cheap (of course) and apparently it is quite unusal that foreigners use the trains.

Hi Sami.
I will ask Daniel ( Mimara ) if he can publish some blog https://rail.cc/blog about Albania. If I'm right he travelled already there. I will keep you up to date!
Pete :)
