Sorry if this has been covered before- I've tried to look through other posts but haven't found an answer...
We want to use our interrail ticket (which we haven't bought yet) to get from Brussels to Berlin on the night train on the 24th of may. As we will have interail passes, will we just be able to pay the supplement and jump on anyway?
Cheers,
Laura.

Hi there,
Yep, you'll need to pay supplements sometimes and a reservation fee of a few Euros though try to book in advance, especially in the summer and on popular routes. Sometimes just a day ahead of travelling will be sufficient to avoid disappointment.
I tend to book the next leg when I arrive in one place so that it's taken care of and I don't need to return to the station before leaving. Consider couchettes fro night travel. They are much more comfortable and cost about the same as a hostel. Much better for meeting other travellers too.
Hope this is helpful. And, have a most excellent trip.

Hi Laura...
Have a look at this topic. The night-train connection Paris-Berlin via Brussels was cancelled in 2008.
Maybe use a free IC train Brussels-Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/brussels-bruxelles-amsterdam-train/f3994
And then continue by night train Amsterdam-Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/amsterdam-berlin-train/f2346
Have fun,
Peter
