Hi!

From Barcelona to Milan I recommend to travel along the Mediterranean coast via Marseille and Nice. Make an overnight stop along the route, so you can avoid trains with additional reservations.
You could also think about the ferry to Livorno https://rail.cc/en/interrail-ferry/barcelona-livorno/25 or Savona: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-ferry/barcelona-savona/63
From Milan to Munich, you could go to Verona by regional train and take a Eurocity train from there (7€ supplement, payable on board) or take the scenic route via the Swiss Alps: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/

Thank you! :)

There is a number of connections - you have to avoid any TGV or AVE trains in Spain and France, as well as Intercites in France and the Thello in France and Italy. Basically this means that you have to travel with regional trains only in Spain and France - in Italy you could use Intercity trains from Ventimiglia to Milan.

Use the schedule planner for exact timings: [ux]http://plan.rail.cc[/ux]
