Thinking of doing this route, Berlin - Prague - Krakow - Vienna - Bratislavia - Budapest - Zagreb - Ljubljana.
Just finished uni and thinking of doing it alone, would be interested to hear advice/tips from anyone who has done anything similar in terms of the route or been interailing alone! thanks

Hi Thomas.
Interrail alone is no problem. Just stay in hostels, the best is in rooms of 6 or 8 people and you will easily get in contact with other travellers. :)
What ticket you want to buy? The Interrail 5 in 10 days. Or 10 in 22 and add some more stops?
Pete :)

Hi Pete,

Always good to know, was just wondering if many others went alone - as i know most do it in big groups.

Was thinking 10 in 22 and stay for 2/3 nights in most places

thanks!

Hi Thomas,

as Peter already said, no problem to travel alone; I did several trips of up to three weeks and I had a great time on all of them.
In hostels you can meet fellow travellers most of the time (of course you need a bit of luck too to meet people you get along with well), a good idea is to look for organised things such as pub crawls, city tours etc.

If you want to spend 2/3 days in each of these cities you should think about getting the 10in22 and maybe add a few other stops to your route - if you have time to travel the full three weeks.

hi flo,

yes was thinking of getting the 10 in 22, spending a few days in berlin before starting it to maximise its use and making the trip last about 4 weeks in total!

is there alot of organised bar crawls etc happening then? always good to know!

OK - yeah, I have seen organised tours, pub crawls etc being offered in almost every hostel I have stayed in. Usually the staff also knows many good spots to go, whether it is a bar, restaurant, club or just a nice spot know only to locals. ;)
