Hey guys,
I currently live in Mannheim, Germany and would like to travel down to Switzerland then to the Czech Republic and back to Germany. I'm a Croatian and Australian citizen.
I've noticed that the Interrail Pass really sucks for german residents, so what I wanted to know was, is it possible for me to use my Croatian ID Card and/or Passport to get a Croatian Interrail Pass (delivered to Germany) so that I don't have to pay ridiculous amounts of money just to get out and back into Germany?
Barring this, would it be possible to get a EuRail Pass as an Australian citizen to achieve the same thing? (Albeit a bit more expensive but still probably way cheaper than paying for tickets from Mannheim -> Zurich, Prague -> Mannheim (and moving between Switzerland and Czech, probably taking me through Germany)
Thank you in advance!!!

Hi Josip!
If you have a Croatian pass it is no problem to get a Croatian Interrail ticket which you could use for travel in Germany, Switzerland and Czech Republic.
I wouldnt bother with Eurail.
Anyway, if your travel dates are fixed and you are fine with buying advance fare tickets which are only valid on the booked train you will definitely find cheap offers for all these routes.
Have a look at [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] for Deutsche Bahn train tickets.
If you want to go straight from Zürich to Prague, you can book through tickets either for the direct night train or for a connection by bus via Munich. If you prefer to travel by train during the day, you would have to split the ticket at a station in Germany.
If you need booking advice, just write here.
And if you decide to go with Interrail: We are official partners of interrail.eu - to support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

Hey Flo!
Okay, so with one of these: http://www.vecernji.hr/media/slika/215/1071979.jpg I should be able to get a croatian interrail ticket and have it sent to germany, right?
I want to have the freedom of an Interrail card as I want to travel to Bern and Konstanz along the way, and maybe to another city within the C.R.
Thanks for the info! I\'ll definitely get the ticket from there :)

Yeah, as long as this qualifies as a travel document with which you can cross borders in Europe you are good to go.
Regarding the delivery to Germany this should be no problem - please ask Pete for details.
OK, if you want to visit some other places too an Interrail pass would be a good choice then. :)
Thanks for supporting - please make sure to use the link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] right before your purchase and turn off any adblock or ghostery plugins.

Hi.
It's no problem. Order your Interrail pass here: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Select as country of residence Croatia and fill in the number of your Croatian ID-card/passport.
As country of delivery select Germany.
After your purchase, get your free PLUS profile here: https://rail.cc/en/plus
Viel Spaß!
Pete :)

Hey!
Thanks again :)
I was wondering, what's the best train route to go from Zürich to Prague?

Night train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/zurich-prague-cnl40470/38
During the day it is a rather long journey, expect around 10h travel time. Most connections include an IC bus of Deutsche Bahn on parts of the route, 4,50€ compulsory reservation.
You can however also travel the whole route by train:
Zürich HB 0716 - 1128 München Hbf
München Hbf 1228 - 1844 Praha hl n
A similar connection is available at 0916 from Zürich, however you have to wait longer in Munich and arrive in Prague at 2244.

So to get that night train that leaves at 19:42 from Zurich, I simply book a sleeperette as shown in the instructions for Zurich -> Dresden and am good to go?
One thing that seems weird is, it says the free 2nd class seats are attached in Berlin. Is that correct? According to the map the train never passes through Berlin.

Yeah, just book until Dresden and you are fine - you can explain the issue with the non-availability to the conductor and if there should be any issues, you could change to the regular 2nd class seated coaches. Thanks for the hint with Berlin, this was the wrong text for another night train - the 2nd class seats on this train acutally from Basel to Prague but cannot be used between Frankfurt and Erfurt.
