Hello,

Is Interrail valid on SWE train Offenburg - Strasbourg? I see on DB route planner that it is normally shown, and DB tickets are buyable for this connection, but here [ux]http://www.diebefoerderer.de/uploads/media/Internationale_Passangebote-SCIC.pdf[/ux] is stated that for SWE private carrier is only valid on Achern - Appenweier route, not on others.

Thank you! :)

Hi!

Offenburg - Strasbourg is part of the Ortenau S-Bahn (OSB) network on which Interrail is fully valid.
OSB trains have been operated by OSB itself, which was a subsidiary of SWEG but now has been included into SWEG - anyway Interrail still is valid as is also stated in the linked document.
According to this, Interrail is valid on OSB and BSB, but not on SWEG lines - a bit complicated... ;)

For this you have to know German railhistory-plus that the DB-pages for ''valid routes'' are not updated since some 3-4 years now. IR is valid on ALL old DB-only routes, even where new companies have taken over contracted services. But NOT on old private sidelines, which were never DB (f.e. SWEG in the Schwarzwald-area). But even there have been other changes since.

Well the document linkd above is dated as valid from December 2014. Would you like to point out any outdated information in there?
