Hi.
If you want to see Rome and Venice, you either have to cut of Krakow or Barcelona (or both), as they are a bit fare away from a possible route.
Some thoughts:
Paris - Berlin - Switzerland - Milan - Venice - Rome
In Italy you can also make use of point to point tickets. They are not that expensive. Have a look at [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] or Trenitalia.
You could also include Amsterdam. Paris to Amsterdam on a special saver ticket by Thalys train: [ux]https://rail.shop/beurope[/ux] and then starting from Amsterdam to Berlin with your Interrail trip.
In Switzerland you should include this route (free to use for Interrailers): https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
If you want to include Krakow, travel Paris - Berlin - DB bus to Krakow (EUR 4 reservation) - Krakow to Vienna by night train - Vienna to Venice/Rome by night train.
Night trains here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
If you want to include Barcelona, make use of the ferry from Italy to Barcelona: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-ferry/civitavecchia-barcelona/22
Like I said, just some thoughts, open for discussion. :)

Hi Pete
Thanks so much for the info!! Yes I am willing to cut both Krakow and Barcelona out and do Amsterdam and Switzerland. Are there any other places I could visit along the way say Pisa?
Thanks

Hi!
Have a look at Cinque Terre, Siena and Lucca too - all of them are nearby Pisa. Of course you could also make a stop at Florence. However, I would not make too many stops in Italy if you go with Interrail - you get more out of your money if you do longer, international trips.
If you go with Interrail, you could also think about making a stop on the way from Paris to Amsterdam - maybe in Gent or Antwerp.
You could then travel Paris - Amsterdam - Berlin - night train to Zürich - Bernina railway - Venice - Rome.
There are many many options... :)

So my plans have changed slightly I am now able to travel for longer 15 days instead of the 10!! Would you recommend a 15 day continuous pass or a 10 day within 22

Hi.
Did your route also changed?
Compare the prices. The 10 in 22 is cheaper. And you won't travel 15 days in a row.
:arr: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-global-pass
If it is possible to include all your stops in 10 travel days, buy the 10 in 22.

Hi Pete yes I have 4 cities so far so far
Paris (2 nights)
Amsterdam (full day) leave on night train to Berlin
Berlin (2 nights)
Prague (full day)
Id really like to get to see Switzerland after Prague and then onto Venice, Florence and Rome not to fussed about seeing Milan although Ive been told I can stop over in Pisa for a couple of hours so would like to do that. Id really then like to get the ferry from Italy across to Spain and do Barcelona and Madrid before flying home from Madrid. Can you make any suggestions for me?

Hi.
Paris - Amsterdam either by direct and expensive Thalys or by slow and free local/IC trains or include a TGV. See here for details: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/paris-to-amsterdam
Amsterdam - Berlin: there is no direct overnight train available anymore - read the schedules: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/amsterdam-to-berlin
Berlin - Prague: sit on the left for a more scenic view. Usually good restaurant cars attached - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/berlin-to-prague
Prague - Zurich: by overnight train - https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/prague-zurich-cnl458/39
Zurich - Milan: via the scenic route - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/zurich-to-milan
And here: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
Milan - Venice: free by local trains https://plan.rail.cc/Milano-Centrale/Venezia - play with the options only local transport.
Venice - Florence: like above. Here the information about train types in Italy: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/italy/it
Florence - Pisa - Rome: like above. :)
Rome - Barcelona: by local train to Civitavecchia, then continue by ferry: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-ferry/civitavecchia-barcelona/22
If you want to save a travel day on your 10 in 22 pass, buy a point to point ticket for about max EUR 9.
Barcelona - Madrid: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/barcelona-to-madrid
So possible with the 10 in 22 Interrail pass.

Hi Pete thanks so much for the info. I already booked a hostel for 2nights in berlin on the 19th and 20th . I may have to change this to as I see there is no night train although i have checked Interrail.eu and it says there is a train leaving Amsterdam at 21.05 with a 3hr 12 stopover in Oberhausen arriving in Berlin on 19th in the morning. Is this train non longer functioning? Id also like to stay in venice and rome for 2 nights each .

HI.
What date you want to use this train with an 3 hours stop in the middle of the night in Oberhausen? I wouldn't do that - you won't sleep a lot - better to use the late train from Amsterdam to Berlin and take a cheap hostel in Berlin. In my eyes more fun, more relaxing.
AND don't forget: you can NOT make use of the 1900h-rule using a normal train leaving Amsterdam at 2100h to Oberhausen (=one day) and then an other normal train in the morning to Berlin (=second day): https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
But it is your decision...!
If you want to include more night trains, you could also travel Amsterdam to Cologne, stay there a night.
Then night train Cologne to Prague: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/cologne-prague-cnl40447/420
Prague to Berlin by day train (sit on the right) with nice restaurant car (use it up to the German border, as prices are cheaper in Czech Republic).
And finally Berlin to Zurich again by night train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/berlin-zurich-cnl-471/21

Yes, When you buy your Interrail tickets via our partner link https://rail.shop/interrail (click right before you order, turn off Addblockers and Ghostery!) to support the free help on railcc and get your PLUS account: https://rail.cc/en/plus
I should recommend you the normal Amsterdam - Berlin IC train. No hurry and nowhere to change. The first train leaves Amsterdam at 05:02 Arriving 11:23 and every 2 hours later.

Hi
I bought my seat reservation for the night train to Zurich from Bad Schandau. Just want to ask how to go about getting from Prague to make the connection without paying for reservations?! Is this possible?
Also question regarding the Bernina Express to Tirano, is it wise to book a seat now? And what is the rules regarding BEX with an interrail pass i.e. are there specific reservations?
Thanks

On what date do you travel to Zürich? There are seated coaches that you can use without a reservation but I would recommend to ask the conductor if it is fine with him to take your reserved seat from Prague already.
Reservation on Bernina Express is compulsory and should be 14 CHF. Anyway I would recommend to travel on regular regional trains instead which you can use without a reservation: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/

OK - sounds good. :)
Have you decided to go with BEX or are you travelling with regular trains?
To get the discount for the ferry you will have to book via mail and send a copy of your IR ticket to get the discount.
In Rome, have a look at Pizzeria/Ristorante di Andra in Via dei Mille, just around Termini station, best pizza in town... :)

I went with BEX and paid the 14 CHF. I emailed Grimaldi Ferries and they said to me that I can also buy my ferry ticket to Barcelona at Cittavecchia port for the same price as it is online. Do you know if this is true or not? I was going to just buy it online so I have it but now not sure.

OK...I have no personal experience with the ferry but it should be no problem to also get the discounted ticket at the port I think. Did you specifically say that you are travelling with Interrail and did they reply mentioning the Interrail discount?

Yes I got like two discount totalling €7. Getting really excited now. I have a couple of last min questions, I am staying a night in Zurich and spending a day in Prague. My hostel in Zurich is 34 CHF for the night, how much do you think I need for the 24 hrs Im there? Also I'll be in Prague for around 6-8hours how much do you think I need to have?

So where did you buy your ticket? Online?
Switzerland is expensive, Zürich all the more - I havent been there for a while so cant recommend any particular restaurant. In general have a look at supermarkets to get through the day. If breakfast is included, you could get by with 50 CHF (including accomodation) but you will be more comfortable with 60 CHF or more.
On the other hand, Prague is dirt cheap if you stay away from the main tourist spots; have a look of the menu of a traditional restaurant just a few metres away from the central station here: [ux]https://www.zomato.com/cs/praha/u-star%C3%A9-po%C5%A1ty-nov%C3%A9-m%C4%9Bsto-praha-1/menu#daily[/ux]
