Hello,
I am trying to go to these places during my trip to Eastern Europe, and this is where I find it most hard to plan ahead and make booking for the transportation.
I would like to take a train from Sofia that leaves at 7:55 AM and arrives at Bucharest at 17:15.
For this journey, I could not find a place to book ahead nor find the cost for the trip.
Then, I was planning on going to Brasov in the morning from Bucharest, and then go to Sighisoara in the morning from Brasov.
(This part of the journey, I'm not so worried about.)
Then from Sighisoara, I was going to take a night train to Budapest.
I was originally planning on taking a train that leaves Sighisoara at 22:25, but found out that the train does not stop at Sighisoara no longer.
So I am trying to find an alternative way to get from Sighisoara to Budapest that departs Sighisoara late in the afternoon.
Doesn't matter if the train is uncomfortable.
Or I would have to change my plans a little bit, and go back to Brasov, but I would like to avoid that option if possible.
If there are any suggestions, could you please tell me and the price as well? (I need to set my budget as well;;)
Also, if there is a place I can book them online, please tell me as well.
Thank you so much.
Best, Hayoon.

Didnt you also want to travel from Athens to Sofia? And from Zagreb to Salzburg? I really was asking for your whole planned route - maybe a Eurail pass would be an option or a Balkan Flexi Pass for travelling up until the Hungarian border...but I cant tell if I dont know about all your planned journeys. ;)
For instance, you could cover all your travels from Greece up until the border Romania/Hungary with a Balkan Flexi Pass.
Five travel days are 53€, seven travel days 70€. Buy locally (!) for instance in Athens. Then you would also need a ticket from Curtici (Gr), the border, until Budapest which is 26,20€.
The direct coaches from Sighisoara to Budapest would leave at 1700, arriving there at 0440.

Hello, on my trip I am trying to go to
Santorini-Crete-Santorini-Kalambaka(Meteora)-going through Thessaloniki-Dupnica(Rila Monastery)-Sofia-Bucharest(Snagov Monastery)-Brasov(Bran Castle)-Sighisoara-Budapest(Danube Bend)-going through Zagreb-Pula-Zagreb(Plitvice Lakes)-Salzburg-Vienna-going through Bratislava-Poprad(High Tatra)-Prague(Cesky Krumlov).
For other parts of the trip, I have a pretty good idea how to get from one place to another, but starting from going to Bulgaria from Greece to getting out from Romania to Hungary is a bit hard for me to plan ahead.
Could you help me out?
Best, Hayoon.

Hm, for me the best option looks like getting the Balkan Flexi Pass to cover all trips until you reach the Romanian/Hungarian border, as I explained above.
For the remaining trips, buy your tickets on the go.
Budapest - Zagreb is possible online at [ux]https://rail.shop/mav[/ux]
For Salzburg - Vienna either book online if you want to travel with ÖBB: https://rail.shop/oebb or travel with Westbahn and buy your ticket on the train (which I would recommend if you want to stay flexible).
All other tickets can be easily bought locally; if you want use the website of Czech Railways: https://rail.shop/cd and Slovak Railways: http://slovakrail.sk/ for travel in Slovakia/Czceh Republic.

OK, great. :)
Balkan Flexi Pass: Either the 5 day or 7 day option - depending on your schedule.
Then you will need the ticket Curtici (Gr) - Budapest when you go from Romania to Budapest - you can get this ticket at Sofia, Bucharest, Brasov,... etc stations.
Zagreb - Pula: Buy locally in Zagreb; you could also think about going Zagreb - Pula - Ljubljana to avoid travelling back to Zagreb.
It would be great to get a little feedback, seeing how your trip turned out. :)
