Hi,

I'll be travelling through Europe for the whole of June and I'll be taking my laptop, (MacBook Pro) I have to take it to do work which I can't do in internet cafe's.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can secure it in my bag or reduce the risk of theft, I'll only be getting it out on trains and using it during the journeys.

Thanks

Hi.
I always have a laptop with me during my travels - to have access to the programming code, the databases and so on of railcc.
Usually I have a small shoulder-bag with me which is from the company Pacsafe and which I can lock. But depends, sometimes as well just in my normal big backpack.
In hostels I put the laptop into my backpack and then into a locker. In night trains I fix my shoulder-bag or backpack with a cable-lock on to the seat.
Sometimes I don't feel perfectly save - but for now I never had problems with theft.
Would be interesting to hear from you which way you finally select to protect your laptop. :)

And if you like the railcc project, support us - we are official partner of interrail.eu - use this link to book: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - same price for you and you get this: https://rail.cc/en/plus
Thank you! :)

Pete :)

Great! Thank you, I will look into the pac safe bags, any suggestions on which sort of bag I'd need? Just to hold the laptop.

Thanks

Mmmh... I use this one since now about two years and I'm happy with it. But depends as well on the size of you laptop - and what you want to put in in total (photo camera, laptop, ...): http://www.pacsafe.com/metrosafe-250-gii-shoulder-bag.html
Maybe just a small backpack (daypack) is a better solution for you....?!?
